hello,
i am currently working of making slim linux install for i386 and i686.
my aim :
to have two install options 1.server and 2.KDE
KDE will be a small install with minimal footprint (i have successfully
installed and run KDE using stock (updated) RH7.1 in about 350Megs) it
has kmail and konsole :)
i will be adding some more packages to base and remove some.
Now my question is will deleting the installclasses and directly hacking
on to it make any difference during install. i don't want the menu for
component selections, only install options either KDE or server. i would
also like to know how to set the time for a predefined location.
Any detailed inputs on how to do it for 7.1 would be welcome. btw does
anyone know howto remove the graphic installer altogether !!!
Can i use miniconda inplace of anaconda ? i will be burning this on to
cd.
Secondly if i need to update the kernel-headers what is the procedure so
that i can use the stock 7.3 kernel, modutils etc. ?
i was thinking about using (src rpm to build it on 7.1)
exact list of the rpms installed is attached alongwith i haven't added
any language support.
regards / shekhar
