A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Michael De La Rue <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License: This project aims to be under the GPL wherever possible
however it uses Perl components and where those may be
generally useful in Perl, software components generated
may be placed under the Perl Disjunctive License.

When the new Artistic License is accepted for Perl, the
disjunction will change to be that of the new artistic
license and the GPL.

Package: LinkController
System name: linkcont
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

Current software location
   http://scotclimb.org.uk/software/linkcont/

also loaded into CPAN.

My project is LinkController. It is a system for going through
web pages and extracting all of the URL references from them
then doing automated and continuous checking of those links to
ensure that they are all still there.

The system is carefully designed to be low maintainance and to
have a very low network impact.

Special features include

 - automatic retesting of links found broken before reporting
        (minimises number of false notifications)

 - rapid repair of broken links through link to page database

A long time ago this project was registered to be a GNU program.
That is still the aim, at least for the main core (I\'m not sure
about how to handle perl modules which have been created in the
process). Currently it doesn\'t conform fully to GNU standards

 - _one_ file in the main core is not clearly under my copyright
 - there isn\'t a simple single install tar file
 - the install process is not GNU conformant

However I\'d like to work on it (help always appreciated :-)
