A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Aidan Delaney <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: continious space machine Emu
System name: simulator
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
The Emulator emulates a continous space machine.
This machine is explained in a number of papers written by Mr Tom Naughton et
al.
The emulation cannot truly preform operations defined by the continous model of
computation, as the concept of continous space does not exist inside a Turing
machine.
Emulation of the operations is hoped to be a pointer to possible problems in
physical implementation of the machine.
This project is the result of my fourth year university project.
It is written in Java and uses the GNU kaffe compiler and virtual machine.
The project uses the GNU Java regular expression matching classes.
It also uses the Xerces XML parser from the Apache foundation.
The first task in a new development cycle would be to find a GNU DOM level 2
XML parser and replace all Xerces references.
The emulator also serves to validate and guide programmers attempting to code
for the machine.
This project is deeply rooted in computational theory, relevent papers should
appear as 1) they are published 2) permission is granted to quote them.
A substantial codebase currently exists (5.3MB cvs repository).
