A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Robert Vidar Bjarnason <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Bang
System name: bang
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Bang is a multi-user 3D environment. The first version was released in 1997
under the name JavaMOO, created with VRML and Java to be a 3D interface for
MOO, a popular text based multi-user game environment. The first version under
the name Bang was released 1998 and written in Java3D. Bang includes code to
create 3D maps showing how webpages connected to one and other. All code has
been released under the GPL licence from day 1. Current version is written in
C++ and uses the NeL libraries from Nevrax for rendering. Two sub-projects are
in the works, a demo of a game called Warp Storm and an educational 3D world
demonstrating the Mayan culture. See http://www.nevrax.org/ for the basic game
engine libraries.
It already exists and you can see it at
http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/bang/ and
http://this.is/javamoo and http://this.is/bang used to work, but don\'t anymore
for some reason... We intend to move all code to the Savannah servers.
