The avr-libc project provides a C runtime library for Atmel AVR 8-bit risc 
microcontrollers.  The library is needed by gcc-3.x for development of AVR 
programs.  Many devices in the AVR family are already supported but new devices 
show up all the time thus requiring the project to evolve.

It already exists and you can download the latest distribution at
