A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Harold L Hunt II <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: lgpl
Other License:
Package: VNIX
System name: vnix
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Description:
Vnix will incrementally provide implementations of VMS library functions
(LIB$*, STR$*, SYS$*, etc.) in C using POSIX functions when necessary. The idea
is to ease the process of porting from VMS to *nix platforms by providing a
compatible API.
It does not yet exist but I am working on it. (Actually, I do have a couple
files and functions, but I need to start using the Autotools before I import
the CVS tree.)
Other Software Required:
POSIX API, GCC, nothing non-free
