Description:
My project is a program named MacCX

It\'s a full featured macro programming language, oriented (very) towards 
documents production.
It is designed to be used as a base kernel driving macros packages.
(As the TeX macro processor drives macros packages such as LaTeX,
RevTeX, and aothers TeXies...)

The major difference with TeX is that MacCX is not a typesetting
tool, but a first level procesor. It permits, from a unique
document file and with proper macros packages to generate different
output formats based on text, e.g. TeX, LaTeX, HTML, XML, nroff,
etc.

It isn\'t a translator ! Documents formats translators, such as
\"latex2html\" work on an existing document and try to generate
something similar under another format. MacCX intends to be a
standalone documentation language. Effective output generation
is supported at macros style files level.

A typical MacCX user is someone having to produce documents
under several formats, a paper printable version and an electronic
online version. No need to do the work twice.

MacCX does exist, as a development prototype.
The current version is fairly stable. I am currentlty working on
distribution and packaging problems (autoconf, configure, ...)
and ports and tests. Tested versions run under GNU/Linux and DEC
OSF/1. I work on port to Solaris.

However, the whole software \"User\'s Manual\" exists (written with
MacCX of course) in online HTML version and PostScript printable
version (via TeX). Having a look at this manual is probably the
best way to have an idea about the software.

Other Software Required:
The MacCX program requires \"rcmake\", a small utility program which
generate runtime configuration files, and uses also the \"coxlib\"
C++ library.
There\'s no free/non free problems, a priori, with the two above,
because I was the author of both and their are not public released.

But, important, the \"coxlib\" library is also used for other software
projects (some of them are professional projects).
Making a software such as MacCX a free software would certainly
imply releasing the required library components under GPL ?
And if yes, what about professional works using this library ?
