Hello, I and a friend have already started preliminar work on a GPL'd 
chat sever that requires encryption. We are considering hosting it on 
Savannah. We have no problems with the requirements, excepting with 
this part from step 5:

"If a GNU program wants to be extensible, it should use GUILE ( 
http://www.gnu.org/software/guile/guile.html ) as the programming 
language for extensibility--that is the GNU standard extensibility 
package. If the program doesn't use GUILE today, at least there 
should be a firm plan to support it in the future."

Our server is going to be extensible, however, at least the first 
version is going to be written in Perl. This is because we want to 
try first some ideas writing them in an easier language. If the 
result is good enough and we see people like it, we'll consider 
rewriting it in C. However, our knowledge of C isn't very good yet, 
so it could take a while.

The server itself is intended to be used by small online communities, 
and not as a replacement of IRC, so scalability shouldn't be a big 
problem. 

Would it be okay to host the project on Savannah?
