Description:
BIM Dynamic Development Environment.
Written in java. It is a CAD application with
support for text, images, and other basic drawing tools.
It allows these items to be created and saved. After
being created they may be distributed onto a canvas.
The canvas can then be saved(with scaling support) and
loaded. The canvas may also be converted to a separate
source file as a frame or an applet for independence from
the CAD application. Now for the unfinished portions of
the application. This application will be used in
conjunction with a database for dynamic display of
information stored in the database. The display will
be updated by events such as editting entries in a
database. The components which appear on the CAD
canvas are built upon abstract classes for extendability
of the CAD framework by developers with their own
ideas for displayable components. The components which
apper on the display can be grouped into four categories.
First are live components which use an extendable interface
for creating life cycles for components using threads(this
is functional).
Second are dynamic components which are
the components that depend on the information in a
database implementing the CAD applications database
interfaces(partially implemented).
Third are components that gather client input(text fields,
text areas, lists, etc)(partially implemented).
Fourth are components that trigger a retrieval of
information gathered by the third category of components.
These triggers will also update components that are
dependant on information gathered(partially implemented).
This application has been tested on Windows 98.

Other Software Required:
Java Runtime Environment v1.2
