ok, 2 more comments: 
a) I realize someone installed openssh 3.4p1 on savanah. 
b) any irc channel to make this problem be resolved more 
quickly?

just as I said, can it be that we know when the next cron 
job would be run? that way I can be sure whether the key 
is in the db or not... a message somewhere or, given it's 
run 4 times a day, you can give us the hours it should be 
run.
