If you enter the project's page in Savannah
(http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/hurd)
and follow the link to the CVS page
(http://savannah.gnu.org/cvs/?group=hurd)
you will see an explanation of how to check out a snapshot of the repository
using "anonymous CVS access".
