Sorry for the late reply. When you create the ssh key for
your machine, you can just press enter when you are asked
for a passphrase. That way you won't have to write any
passphrase everytime you access the repository or the files
directory.

Even without passphrase, you should have enogh protection
because the key you generate for your machine should be
unique and very hard to guess.

No, it cannot be "fixed" as it's absolutely not unwanted
behavior (that you have to type your passphrase).

But it typing your passphrase is "cumbersome", it means that
your passphrase is a bad passphrase. A passphrase or a
password should be easy and fast to type (without being too
simple).
