Ricky Hussmann <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Caller ID Demodulator
System name: ciddemod
Type: non-GNU

Description:
This is a software implementation of a caller ID demodulator. Currently, the
software analyzes a file in PCM WAV format. The WAV file is either a generated
or recorded caller ID signal. The signal is then passed through a software
correlator and FSK demodulator for level detection, bit synchronization, and
signal translation. After the signal has been translated into bits, the
software then parses the bits into a Caller ID message. The information from
the Caller ID message is displayed in a GUI using GtkMM. The software should be
used mainly as a learing tool for others to explore signal processing and
software defined radio. It could be extended to connect to a phone line to
provide real-time analysis of incoming signals. However, the main interest of
this software is for education.

The source code is available below:

Other Software Required:
The current code relies on GtkMM, which in turn relies on SigC++. Also,
pkg-config is necessary for building the project.
