Russell Valentine <address@hidden> described the package as follows:

Package: KAstrometry
System name: kastrometry
Type: non-GNU

Description:
KAstrometry is a Astrometry program for the KDE Desktop Environment. It is
written in Python. It aims to be a good tool to make measurements of objects in
space from images taken by CCD cameras. Such measurements might be used to find
orbits of astroids or records the brightness of variables stars. Once day it
should be able to records object position, detecting stars and finding
coordinates using star catalogs.
