Francois P. Lekien <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Tricubic Interpolation Library
System name: tricubic
Type: GNU
Description:
Libtricubic is a library that implements a tricubic interpolator in 3D. In
short, given the values of a function f at the corners of a cube (and the
values of some derivatives at the same corners), the tricubic interpolator
determine a 3rd order polynomial form for f inside the cube. The resulting
function is continuous everywhere and its 3 first derivatives are also
continous (C^1 continuity). The extra smoothness of the interpolator makes it
superior to trilinear interpolation, but there is a small price in computation
time.
