Follow-up Comment #8:

Hi Scott - I think it is already set up that way, since you made the archiving
private when you created the list.  I unpacked all the mboxes in the private
subdir, since that's the standard mailman setup.  (All mbox files in private,
with symlinks from public when the lists are public.)
