----

==== Description: ====
Snap.py is a desktop application to assist in the fast organization of
digital photographs via tagging.

It emphasizes (re)use of existing standards for picture metadata storage
(EXIF, IPTC, XMP, et al) so that tags can be carried with and backed up with
the photograph.

Snap.py is written in Python. It aims to be cross platform, but GNU/Linux is
the primary platform used by the principal developers and as such will
probably receive the most attention.

==== Other Software Required: ====
PyGTK+ (LGPL, http://www.pygtk.org/)
Pycairo (LGPL, http://cairographics.org/pycairo/)

==== Other Comments: ====
Snap.py is conceptually descended from a class project at UC Berkeley, simply
known as Snap. It is hosted at snap-photo.sourceforge.net, but has been dead
for some time.
