I just looked into the build directory and - that's a bad trick. Bill please 
change the name of the executable to simulavrxx. The installed program is named 
simulavrxx on my system - may be I did that manually afterwards. But as long as 
simulavrxx is different to simulavr it should be named simulavrxx as executable. 
  Bugs will talk about simulavr and mean simulavrxx which ends in a lot of 
confusion.

If you rename the executable also the makefile of the example simple_ex1 has to 
be modified.
