Details:

When on Cygwin, the current CVS head (9 March 2009) will core dump when it
tries to output the first cout<<... << optarg. If you given no arguments, it
gives a proper error message.  

I attached a gdb backtrace.  I tried linking the program by hand on cygwin
and adding -static in case that helped but no.  

I tried to run simple_ex1 and this happened.
