This is an avr-libc issue, not gcc. What version of
avr-libc are you using?

Looks like avr-libc 1.2.5

If you can, please upgrade to the latest release.

Fedora only supports the current release and one back.
So 9 and 10 are active.  I use 10 daily.  I would recommend
downloading a 10 DVD image and just upgrading.

OK ... so I went and used the yum GUI and loaded a package.
I built the last one from scratch ... I'm not used to cross
tool chains being RPMs :)

As a result, I got avr-libc-1.4.6-4.fc7, and things are
running a bit more smoothly.

Now ... if I can just get my ancient SPI code to *work*.
