Mi sembra che ci siano molti rosa nel modo ... slackware è stabilità prima di tutto ... I don't recall making any statement that 11.0 would not include a 2.4.x kernel. After 11.0, I'll have no choice. Ask the glibc people why they've chosen to stop supporting linuxthreads which are needed to use a vanilla 2.4.x kernel. That wasn't my idea. AND SLACKWARE IS STABLE AND SECURE first of all. Well, there are a few things that are better with 2.6, but you should ask someone who has more spare time. I'm forced to use 2.6 on one of my machines because 2.4 lacks certain hardware support. All the rest are running 2.4. Anyway, I admire your direct approach, and your opinion on the 2.4 kernel, but people like us are in the minority. I get mail all the time from people who are complaining that I'm taking too long to get rid of 2.4. You're one of the few to understand why I'm taking so long. another question .... there is an official future for slackware in the 64bit word ?? I think so, but not with the next release. Plus I only have one fairly slow AMD64 machine. I'd need a decent compile cluster to keep up with the maintainance.
