How would you feel if you wanted to say something (truthful) about someone but
they prevented you from sharing the information?

IMHO, no one gets to take away someone else's right of free speech. There's too
much of that in the world already. If you don't want something to be generally
known, and can't trust that the person you're disclosing to will keep it in
confidence, don't share that information with them in the first place.

If you did, and they share the information anyway, then tough. That's life.
That's what you get for trusting the wrong person. It's a lesson to not share
such information with that person in the future, and an opportunity to work on
improving your skills as a judge of people's character & trustworthiness. :)
