I have been interested in "Swarm" for a while, and have downloaded
the package and have successfully installed "Swarm" on a Sparc5
machine. I have also successfully gotten the various demos and
tutorials working. I have *not* taken the next step of tweaking
the existing demos to learn to develop my own models. Soon ...
however ... I hope to do just that.
Suffice it to say, I am a "Swarm-newbie". :)
However, I have some questions that I can not find an answers to in the
archives. When I run the tutorial programs (lets use "simpleObserverBug2"
as an example) I encounter a warning message when I right-mouse click on
the "ModelSwarm" label on one of the GUIs. The message reads as follows:
> *** event raised for warning: WarningMessage
> *** function: _i_MessageProbe__createEnd(), file MessageProbe.m, line: 122
> Could not complete creation of a message probe because of a bug in gcc 2.7.2.
> Continuing anyway: see documentation for details.
> *** execution continuing...
This seems to occur when a failure is detected in the execution of the
code in "MessageProbe.m".
My questions are .... is there a patch/fix to 'gcc' which will eliminate
this error? Does this cause any real problem with the execution of the
simulation? Should I just ignore this and not worry about it?
Thanks.
