Let me help. You can email me directly if you like. There's no doubt
this can be made to work.

I use Redhat, but I used to use Slackware, so I know
this can be done. In your "stock" linux install, which tcl/tk
did you have. As I recall, Slackware does not use RPM, but it does
have a similar package manager, and you can use that to figure out
which tcl/tk you have. If you have 7.6/4.2, or 7.5/4.1, I'm sure swarm
can be made to work.

In the Swarm FAQ, which I've been updating recently, and you can
look at http://lark.cc.ukans.edu/~pauljohn/SwarmFaq, it outlines
steps for installing. If you look at the steps outlined there, it
will work.

If you still have trouble, please post again and tell us this:
1. Are you trying the binary or archive install?
2. If you have a binary install, the most common mistakes are
   a. not including -ldl in the Makefile.conf and
   b. failing to properly set environment variables.

3. If you have an archive install,
   a. Do the tests
for tclobjc and blt work fine?
   b. How many different versions of tcl/tk do you have installed?

Good luck, let me know if you make it work. Probably, you should let me
see your makefile.conf if you keep having trouble.
