waitForControlEvents in 1.1

Hello Group

I have just tried to upgrade an application here from swarm 1.05 to
swarm 1.1. After making (hopefully) all of the changes required in
the documentation (porting applications from 1.05 to 1.1), I was able
to get the application to compile successfully, though with a few
warnings about incompatible pointer types from "int main ( int arc,
char ** argv)".

However, when I try to run the program, I get the initial windows
opening (the contol panel and the other sundry windows) for about a
second, and the program terminates with the following output:

address@hidden floatspace
error: ControlPanel (instance)
ControlPanel does not recognize waitForControlEvent
Abort (core dumped)

I have noticed waitForControlEvent mentioned as a method in the 1.1
documentation for ControlPanel, but I did not find that method
listed in the source code for controlpanel.

Any help on where I should be looking to fix this?

Incedentally, this is precompiled binary version of swarm 1.1 on a
machine running Redhat 5.0 (kernel 2.0.32, gcc 2.7.2.3, p120
processor).
