Archiver

If I press "save" while running my app, then next time I try to start it
the app coredumps. I expect this is because the archiver on startup
attempts to position windows that haven't been created yet. (I create my
rasters, graphs, and probes in stages). 

Is there a way to control *when* the Archiver tries to position windows?
