Hi there,

I hope someone out there can give me a helping hand as regards to the
following mysterious problem.

I am using the Windows 95 platform. I just tried to upgrade from version
1.3 to 1.4.1, with no avail. I had Cygnus B19 and Swarm 1.3 working very
well with my applications. Since I didn't have too much hard disk space
left on my C drive and my earlier experience suggested that I had to
install Cygnus and Swarm on the C drive, I first removed the old versions
of Cygnus and Swarm (what a mistake!). Then I installed Cygnus B20 and
Swarm 1.4.1. First time, it got installed alright. Then I went to
my application and made the necessary changes in the Makefile. It didn't
compile. I was having problems with the Swarmhome and include path
definitions. I then tried to make the heatbug application, same problem.
Then I got a little annoyed, and decided to go back to Cygnus B19 and
Swarm 1.3. This time, I couldn't reinstall Swarm 1.3. In fact, I couldn't
install 1.3.1 and even reinstall 1.4.1. The problem I got in each one of
these trials was this:

At the 95% stage of the setup, when the setup dialog box shows
c:\bin\sh.exe the installation stops with the following error dialog box:

_ins576
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If
the problem...

In the Details box:

_INS576 caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:006dfc01.

Now, I don't have my old version of Swarm, and cannot install any one of
the past or current versions. I honestly don't know what to make of this.
Does any one have any idea?

Thanks

Kerimcan Ozcan
