Re: irix 6.5 install

    There's obviously something I've misconceived:
    I've tried configuring with -
    ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-xpmdir=/usr/local/swarm-2.0.1/xpm
ffi=--with-ffidir=/usr/local/lib/libffi --without-jdkdir
    - in the hope of leading it to use ffi not avcall
(if that was the problem), and to prevent configure stalling when it can't
find anything called JDK (it's all in the usual place: /usr/java/bin or
lib. javac gets found just before).
    The make then stops as before, in defobj:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../.. -I../../libobjc -I../../libobjc -I.. -I./.. -I./../collections -I./../misc -I../../avcall -DBUILDING_SWARM -O2 -Wall -Wno-import -Wno-protocol -Werror -c fcall_objc.m -o fcall_objc.o
