There is a JDBC driver for MySQL: http://www.worldserver.com/mm.mysql.
MySQL also has ODBC, so as I understand it, that gets JDBC
transitively as well.
This won't be integrated with Swarm serialization, but it doesn't sound
like that is an issue for you.
