Thanks. May I ask two further questions, due to my ignorance?
1) In which file should I make this change, to direct the link directly to
the appropriate gcc? (I can't see why it shouldn't see it; all older
gcc's have been cleared out, and the path looks right)
2) If I give up on that:
i) do I need to re-install anything else, as other elements exist
as shared libraries?
ii) What do I lose by not having a shared-library swarm?
