Simulation speed and multiple diffuse2ds

Two questions.

First of all, what's the best way to slow down a simulation so that it's
easier to watch when running in real-time? A good portable solution would
be nice.

Second, I have two Diffuse2d spaces existing in the same conceptual area.
The only way I've figured out to display both of them is to have two
windows, each showing the exact same collection of agents but with a
different Diffuse2D behind it all. Ideally, I'd like it that wherever one
of the spaces has a value less than, for example, 512, then the other one
would be displayed, otherwise show the first one. Is there a good, easy
way to display two spaces in a single window like that?

Thanks in advance.
