Good question that constantly arises with demos. I guess
the best solution would be to enhance the control panel using
alarm()/pause() which should be portable enough (POSIX, X/OPEN, BSD).
Nobody found it worth doing it until now, though.

This would require its own 2dDisplay and this means coding for you, too.
I soon have a similar problem but I'm sure I'll concentrate on the
simulation results which, if they are 'obvious' to a casual observer
from looking at the sim, shall be expressible in a loglog plot for
presentation in an article.
