making images

Hello.

I want to save images of my running simulations, automatically (without 
screen grabbing). I suspect someone has already had this same idea, and 
has come up with a sollution.

All elements are there to make a 'saveable' image:
    ZoomRaster worldRaster;
    Colormap colormap;

How do I put this in a BufferedImage(), for example?
Or are there smarter ways?
