Dear Greg,

you bet I'll be in ND, especially now I know about the terrific keynote speech you've arranged!!! I'd like very much to say something about multithreading Swarm models (multitasking, to say the truth, since I've experimented only with fork(), not clone() till now).

I had in mind to talk about how Project Penelope has progressed, its core model going more and more generic and able to work on weaving mills besides spinning mills, about Gigi Ferraris' new GA implementation (Golem) which I've promptly adopted and a few news about Swarm-based Supply Chains Management.

But... after all the developement of the project sooner or later will head towards parallelizing the model and going multi-something (multiprocessor pcs? cluster of pcs?) processing (it's all in my head only by now), so I might also say a little something about my works in progress in parallel Swarm coding, also keeping in mind the many suggestions that appeared in this thread (thanks a lot Marcus for your idea of a client/server architecture processing individuals in big batches, I really hadn't an idea of the costs of communicating over a network in terms of time wasted).

Matteo,

Any chance we will see you in Notre Dame this spring?

I've arranged for John Holland to be the keynote speaker!

Would you be interested in giving a talk on multi-theading Swarm
simulations?
