Ignore all the warning junk.  This is your problem.  Do you have X11 
installed or are you using Fink?

The packages will probably not work with Fink X11.  You should have a 
number of files with names beginning with "libXpm." in the directory 
/usr/X11R6/lib. Since the option " -L/usr/X11R6/lib" is in the link 
command, it appears that you do not have this file.   If if you do not 
have these, you need to install X11, and if necessary remove the Fink 
version before you do.  even better trash Fink completely!
