You need a shared library of Swarm to be able to dynamically load Swarm into a running Java virtual machine. The Sun Java virtual machine is a standalone system that cannot be linked against. --disable-shared only makes sense for an Objective C-only build of Swarm (or for a static native code compiler of Java).So the question is, why the heck, the program searches for the shared library?
