I'm not quite sure about this. Synaptic complains "Some index files
failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead,"
but as far as I can see the only files that fail to download are not
Packages, but Release files. One of these "missing" files is from a
local directory...
If the Release files are the problem, what could be done to make  
synaptic _not_ trying to dl them at all?
