Another issue is that it is possible to integrate information about an
update into apt's pkglists. However I did not find any way to extract
this information from the client-side (even with apt-* tools). Probably,
it will be good to have a possibility to access this information from
synaptic.
What information exactly? Changelog information?
Not exactly. This information is probably most suitable for security
updates, but probably one could utilize them with usual updates as well.
The additional fields include:
- Update summary
- Date of update
- Update priority
- URL of update (probably a link to the security announcement)
