Sounds yucky to me, and not at all worth the trouble and complication.

    At that point, I think that I will proceed with the plan, as those cases
    should be rare anyway, but we should document the limitation of the tools
    that rewrite Texinfo code.

Yes, that makes sense to me.  People should be able to understand that
tricky macros and tree-structured data just don't go together.
