Dear developers of uisp,

i'm using uisp to program ATtiny11's with an STK500 and i keep
thinking, that uisp isn't used very much with tinys...

In the beginning i was a bit confused, since the tiny11 (like the 28)
just supports "High Voltage Serial Programming Mode" (as mentioned in
the specs by atmel) To enable this, uisp needs the switch -dparallel
which i find quite confusing. You may consider (if no reason speaks
against this) renaming that option to -dhvoltage or s.th. since atmels
documentation of the STK500 protocol defines this not as parallel or
serial but as ISP and High-Voltage. So maybe future new-users of uisp
won't get confused like me...

Sounds reasonable, will wait for Ted to chime in when he's got some spare time :)

I think there's still a really confusing one with the -dprog=avrisp being not the Atmel AVRISP, i'm sure that's tripped up a few users.

another thing is that i belive that at least reading fuse-bits on
ATtiny11 won't work... if you want, i will report you about that if i
know more (or if i make a patch)...

Please do report your findings to this list, I think the 2 official developers of uisp are busy hence the silence.

and at last: either i made wiring mistakes (or just am too stupid :) but
i think using the ATtiny11 with stk500 and uisp was just possible after
updating the firmware from stk500 from 1.10 to 1.14 ... i cannot imagine
how this could be linked to your work (uisp) but maybe you want to
check...

This may be the case since there are some difference with the firmware but as I understand it they are catered for already in uisp.

if you know how seldom/often uisp is used with ATtiny11 an answer would
be very appreciated...

Probably just yourself at the moment :)

Jason Kyle
