Yes, the seg fault is in the call to
    obj->handle( obj, event, mx, my, key, xev );
inside handle_object(),
inside fli_handle_object(),
inside restore_object();

Looks like the restore has broken the object/children.

To sleep here now, will have nightmare about restore_object().
