I read this very interesting news: http://blog.chromium.org/2011/01/html-video-codec-support-in-chrome.html

Google Chrome/Chromium will support *only* free audio/video codecs (like Firefox and Opera today do) for html5 <video>  tag.

This is a very important step toward mass adoption of free video formats like webm and theora.
