Dear a2ps maintainers!
I would like to delight (:-) you with a few buglets I discovered in good
old a2ps.texi.
I download the source, because I want to get the documentation formatted
to A5 PDF to be able to read it on my Iliad e-reader.
I untar the a2ps_4.14.orig.tar.gz, run ./configure, cd doc, make dvi, when
I get
------------
! Macro name LaTeX already defined.
@macroxxx address@hidden @macname @space already defined}
@fi @global @cslet
{macsav...
l.47 @macro LaTeX
------------
So I put the @c before three lines defining LaTex macro. Running make dvi
then works.
But make pdf fails with
------------
[104]) [105] (./a2ps.toc [-1] [-2] [-3]) [-4] (./a2ps.toc) (./a2ps.toc
! Argument of @PreTeX has an extra }.
<inserted text>
@par
<to be read again>
}
@dopdfoutline ...double @xdef @pdfoutlinetext {#1}
@backslashparens
@pdfoutli...
l.74 @address@hidden }{7.3.3}{PreTeX}{61}
-------------
and
-------------
! Argument of @TeXScript has an extra }.
<inserted text>
@par
<to be read again>
}
@dopdfoutline ...double @xdef @pdfoutlinetext {#1}
@backslashparens
@pdfoutli...
l.78 address@hidden }{7.3.4}{TeXScript}{63}
--------------
So I repair the lines 74 and 78. I simply put another @ before @. I'm not
sure what should be the correct section title. At least I get the PDF that
I can read and browse.
I append the diff file to show exactly what I've done.
May be I'm a bit old-fashioned to use a2ps but I find it useful to format
various sources (lisp, java, etc.) to a5 so I can read them on my Iliad
e-reader. I convert the a2ps output with ps2pdf and then generate a simple
index on pdf.
Best regards.
Maks Romih.
