Hi, I'm new to Ubuntu, and have heard that ddrescue is one of the best ways to recover failing hard drives. The only thing is because I am new to Ubuntu, I haven't a clue on the command lines and am lost..... If I explain a bit about the problem maybe you can help me? I have an external hard drive that has corrupt sectors. Windows cannot see the hard drive properly and my Ubuntu GUI machine can't seem to access the folder that is required. I have downloaded and burnt a copy of Ubuntu-Rescue-Remix to use ddresuce and need a few directions from here.... What commands do I use? How do I copy the data from the external drive to another drive? Thanks in advance for you help and support David Beresford
