I like the concept being suggested here; that you're given a summary of
what will happen before it actually starts;

ie;

ddrescue will copy 200GB:
 from /dev/sda [ ST2011932MZX, 200GB ](sda1,<sda2> sda5)
 to /dev/sdc [ WD200032BTHA, 2TB ] ( )
