However, in looking at the documentation I did notice that when installed, doing a "info ddrescue" shows outdated documentation. The included "ddrescue.info" file is updated, but it did not show on my system (checked on 2 different systems). The info returned pre-dates the options for the rates and reads logs. To be more accurate, the proper version is "/usr/local/share/info/ddrescue.info", but there was an older version "/user/share/info/ddrescue.info.gz" dated from June of 2012. Did you make a change in the past on where the info file was located? Or is that from someones packaging? Maybe I had used the Ubuntu repository to install once previously? Somehow there was an old info file left over :( I have removed it now, but wanted to make you aware of it.

The new "-P, --data-preview[=<lines>]" does not allow for a space between the "-P" and the variable. Every other option I have ever tested has always allowed for a space after the short name. Example: "-P20" will show 20 lines, "-P 20" will give "No data available".Not a deal breaker, but it is not consistent with what I have experienced with all other options.Scott
