On a second thought, I think I won't implement this.Rounding -i would alter the offset between input and output positions or, if -o is adjusted, would overwrite data out of the requested destination image.
The only safe solution, in addition to leaving direct mode as it is now, would be to modify direct mode so that it does not attempt partial sector reads.
