Hi Tauras,
It is the appropriate time to run dd-rescue.
Before you begin you have to know how dd-rescue are working.
dd-rescue will save your drive block by block and NOT file by file. This means
that it will make a copy of all the blocks of your drive to a new destination.
So if your failed drive is 2TB you will need 2TB or more of free space on the
new destination.
You are not able to only save those files that you know of, but again need to
wait for the full rescue has been completed before opening up your image to
avoid corruption of your image.
I would use a linux live-cd of some sort to make the rescue and not relay on
making a rescue in Windows. (I dont even know if there is Windows binaries for
dd-rescue.)
Or use a Mac if you have one. :-)
Read the manual carefully, before making the rescue attempt. :-)
