--rw-test might be best, seems more explanatory, or if more detailed 
required, --allow-rw-test  ?

I wasn't sure what sort of hiccups might occur with that sort  of 
process, wasn't exactly sure what/if any buffering might be happening 
within ddrescue, as such I was hoping you'd apply your more thorough 
knowledge to the option :)
