Follow-up Comment #2, bug #30389 (project pspp): It seems to work for me. I pushed an additional change to address a memory problem. Looking at the code, it's clear to me that we need more flexible framework for parsing lists of variables. I found myself wanting the same thing when writing other commands. We shouldn't have to spend so much effort on the "housekeeping" when writing statistics.
